“Wind and Water”

Description:
This abstract photograph was created using intentional camera movement along the Oregon Coast. The horizontal bands reflect evening light and early-autumn coastal winds, which often continue blowing from the north into October and play a major role in shaping surface patterns on the Pacific Ocean.

Story:
After sunset, the colors lingered longer than the light itself. As I moved the camera with intention, the scene broke into two fields: warm evening tones above and the cool surface of the ocean below, stretched into calm horizontal bands.

This wasn’t a literal seascape so much as the impression of one. Wind and water. One shaping from above, one shifting from below. Two forces that define the Oregon Coast, distilled into color.

Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) reduces the landscape to its simplest conversation. It turns movement into form, separating color from detail and revealing the structure beneath the scene. In this photograph, wind and water meet in quiet equilibrium.
