“Starburst Reflection”
Story:
A sunset at Pacific City that exceeds expectations with a colorful show.
The weather forecast for the coast was for clear skies.
I verified conditions via the webcam at the Inn of Cape Kiwanda before making the drive from my home in the valley.
But the weather can change rapidly on the Oregon coast with clouds forming along the horizon as sunset approaches.
Most of the time these invading clouds will block the setting sun, but fortunately they didn’t for this photograph.
Instead, they added interest to the sky and were reflected off the mirror like shine left behind by the retreating tide.
This allowed for the sun to “burst” forth from the arch of Haystack Rock.
