“Rainbow Grove”
Story:
A rainbow spans a grove of palm trees in the parking lot at Newport Beach, California.
Even while on vacation, there’s a strong need to explore and photograph.
Having spent the majority of the day enjoying it at nearby Disneyland, I wanted to do something different and made for the beach.
Predictions were for a gorgeous sunset since a storm had passed through. And I was hoping to photograph the sun setting behind The Newport Beach Pier. But as I was walking from my car to the beach, a rainbow unexpectedly appeared as if summoned by the gods of photography.
(Immediately, I began looking around for something to compliment the rainbow.)
Nearby were a bunch of palm trees lining the parking lot. With just a few steps to reposition myself so the rainbow wouldn’t cross paths with a palm, I took the shot. I never did end up taking the photograph of the sun behind the pier.
