“Oregon Sahara”
Story:
A rather large sand dune in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area evokes a sense of solitude, clarity and restoration.
The sand siphoning between the toes made each footstep feel like a spa treatment. It was cool to the touch and balanced the heat of the mid-afternoon sun.
Standing atop one of the sand dunes, I could see the ocean at the very edge of my sight. I used the opportunity to reorient myself in this Saharan like landscape.
Upon descending one of the larger dunes, the ocean vanished and was replaced with sand as far as the eye could see.
