“Ocean Dream”
Description:
This abstract photograph was created using intentional camera movement along the Oregon Coast. The muted bands of teal and blue-gray reflect typical Pacific Northwest marine conditions shaped by coastal clouds, moisture, and evening light.
Story:
The clouds muted the sky into soft Pacific Northwest tones: teals, blue-grays, and gentle pastels stretched across the horizon as I moved the camera with intention. The colors blended into calm horizontal bands, creating one of my earliest abstract photographs.
This image became the basis for my first handmade greeting cards, small gifts for friends and family before I had any sense of where this artistic path would lead.
Looking back, Ocean Dream marks the quiet beginning of my art career, the moment I began shifting from landscape photographer to identifying as a photographic artist. My understanding of what a photographer could be expanded, and the idea of dreaming through color began to take root.
