“Granite Pools”
Description:
Polly’s Cove Preservation Area in Nova Scotia, Canada was shaped by glaciers during the last Ice Age over 10,000 years ago. The landscape features exposed bedrock, glacial erratics, and tidal pools that illustrate the region’s rugged geological history along the Atlantic coast.
Story:
More similar to Korea than Oregon, the granite coastline of Nova Scotia resembles bed sheets, comforters, and pillows made of harden stone. I found this particular stretch of coastline inspiring.
Located near the picturesque and renowned Peggy’s Cove, Polly’s Cove Preservation Area sees far fewer tourists. The solitude the morning I beheld this scene is something I always hope to have when photographing.
