Story:
In a state thatās known for its evergreens (State tree being the Douglas Fir), itās not often one can find an area with vibrant fall colors.
Juxtaposed against the evergreens, these intensely yellow trees are like soldiers standing at attention in front of palace gates leading to Mt. Hood in the distance.
These āgolden guardsā symbolically represent the end of one season and the beginning of what will be a long and cold winter in the mountainous wilderness they silently defend.
