“Gatekeeper’s Code”
Story:
During sunset on a clear autumn evening, the sun casts an orange glow on the rocky shores of Harris Beach State Park as the tide retreats through a narrow opening.
Using my imagination, that opening in the rock is like a gate. Twice a day the tide either enters or exits through the gate. So, too, can people visiting the beach, but only if they know the code.
The gatekeeper’s code is determined by the position of the sun and moon which controls the tide.
Therefore, to know the code, is to know the tides.
