“Dream Tower”
Story:
Colors resembling an orange creamsicle, this photograph blurs the lines between realism and abstract in art.
While working on my abstract photography one morning, I noticed the soft predawn light paired well with Haystack Rock.
In order to give the image a more artistic flavor or abstract feeling, conventional compositional rules were broken by placing the subject (Haystack Rock) near the bottom of the photograph.
This gave the impression that a tower of color is rising from the rock.
A small fishing boat (a dory boat) is barely visible to the right of the rock. (Haystack Rock is massive!)
The time of the year was early summer when the angle of the sun meant that the sky behind the rock was filled with wide range of colors from purple to blue to orange and yellow.
Now I’m a little hungry. Dreamsicle anyone?
