“Down Up Left Right”
Description:
Fallsview Park in Saint John, New Brunswick, offers the opportunity to witness Reversing Falls on the Saint John River — a natural phenomenon caused by the extreme tides of the Bay of Fundy. Across the shore is the Irving Pulp & Paper Mill, in operation since 1951.
Story:
Inspired by the fluidity of my BAPstracts and the freedom to create, I wanted to present a landscape that reflected the feeling I had looking across this Finnish lake during the peak of summer as the long days produced intense sunsets and twilights that never faded.
By intentionally mirroring a photograph and turning it upside down, I want the viewer to think less of place and more of a dream — a reality where anything goes and nothing surrenders.
